The President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil inaugurated an "Exhibition of Contemporary Paintings and Sculptures" at the auditorium of Rashtrapati Bhavan on the eve of 62nd Independence Day today.
The exhibition features nearly 100 works of paintings and sculptures of some 40 painters and 8 sculptors. The paintings and sculptors are creations of upcoming artists.
While going around the exhibition and interacting with the young artists, the President said, " a stroke of brush on canvas and a touch of human finger on the mould, speaks louder than words. Beautiful creations and exemplary imagination is displayed by one and all."
The exhibition shall be open to the general public from August 16th to 21st from 10.00 AM to 4.30 PM. Entry for the general public shall be from Gate No.35, which is located near the end of North Avenue towards the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
