The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil conferred Civil Investiture Awards to eminent persons from various fields at a function in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 4, 2012. The President conferred 1 Padma Vibhushan, 11 Padma Bhushans and 38 Padma Shris. One recipient of the Padma Bhushan, two recipients of Padma Bhushans and one recipient of the Padma Shri were not present at the function.
